7x Self Care Tips for Social Workers in Aotearoa New Zealand
Talofa lava and Kia ora all, Over the years I've developed some key tips in order to enable me to prioritise my personal health and wellbeing. I hope you are able to apply these in your own personal and professional life. Here are the 7x self-care tips for you all;
- Prioritize self-care: Make sure to set aside time each day to take care of yourself, physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.
- Connect with others: Make time to connect with friends, family, and colleagues to build a strong support network.
- Get enough sleep: Make sure you are getting enough rest to help you stay energized and focused throughout the day. Aim for at least a minimum of 6-8 hours per night. If this is difficult, then set a side time for power naps during the day.
- Exercise regularly: Physical activity can help reduce stress and promote overall well-being. Aim for a minimum of 2x per week.
- Take breaks: Remember to take breaks throughout the day to clear your mind and recharge.
- Practice mindfulness: Mindfulness practices such as meditation and yoga can help you stay grounded and focused.
